Men's Health Issues
Screening for testicular and prostate cancer should be undertaken after your transplant. Early detection is vital in the treatment of these cancers. Your GP can perform a regular testicular and prostate examination, and men over the age of 50 years (or 40 years for those with a family history of prostate cancer) should have a prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood test every two years.
Also, young males need to know the importance of storing sperm should complications occur. For both male and female patients who have ureteric stenting, you will require a cystoscopy (look into your bladder) at the time of stent removal.
